It started with the way we travel. My wife and I have always loved travelling, first as a couple and later with our children. Over the years, we stayed in wonderful hotels and beautiful private villas around the world. Yet sometimes, however beautiful they were, we felt something was missing. A heart. A story. An emotion. We wanted to feel that someone had really lived there. That the objects had been chosen rather than simply placed. That the kitchen was meant to be cooked in. That every little detail had a reason to be there. Without knowing it at the time, we were already imagining Mirto. Then we fell in love with Cilento. Its nature, its silence, its villages and its food. But above all, that rare feeling of discovering a corner of Italy that still feels genuine and wonderfully untouched. We started looking for a place of our own and travelled through what felt like half of Cilento before finding the right one. Along the way, we met local artisans and small producers, discovered materials and traditions, and got to know the people behind them.

That journey became part of Mirto.
